How to Apply Hair Extensions

How to apply weft hair extensions

1. Make a horizontal part across the back of your head about 2-3 inches above the nape of your neck. Hold the upper part of your hair with clips.

2. Measure the horizontal line and cut weft slightly smaller than the measurement.

3. Apply a thin line of glue along the rough side of the band at the top of the weave.

4. Press the glue of the weft along the part, about ¼ inch from the roots. Lightly press with your fingers all along the weft.

5. Hold the extension in place for about 1 minute to dry the glue. Loosen your hair and create another horizontal part across the back of your head about ½ inch above the first part.

6. Repeat step 2-5 until you reach just below the crown of your head.

How to Apply Clip in Hair Extensions

1. Determine the place where you want apply the hair extension.

2. Make a U part on the back of your head, that spans from ear to ear. Snap open each clips in one of your wefts.

3. Place the clips along the line and snap shut. Ensure it is fixed

4. Add the weft as the step 2 and 3, place on the place where you need to make a style.

5. You can also add the weft from the top, the top of your ear, and work your way down.

6. When the back part is finished, you can use the single clip ins to fill in the sides.

How to apply your Micro hair extensions

1.Gather a strand of your own hair with one hand.
2.With your other hand, take a micro loop extension and place the loop over your thumb and forefinger.
3. Pull the natural hair through the plastic loop using your thumb and index finger.
4. Hold the micro ring (small bead) with one hand and the plastic guiding loop with the other.
5. Pull the plastic guiding loop so that the natural hair begins threading through the micro ring, (in a downward motion)
6. Pull the natural hair completely through the ring and discard the plastic loop, (keep these in a small bag, they can be reused). If the hair extension has slipped down the shaft of your hair, hold on to your hair and slide the bead up to 1 cm from your scalp.
7. Use pliers to squeeze the ring shut. Squeeze firmly to close.
8. Repeat the previous steps by adding extensions in rows.

How to Make Pre Tipped Hair Extensions

Pre-tipped hair extensions include Nail/U Tip hair extension and Stick/I Tip hair extension.

1. Spread some wax paper out on your table. Use scissors to cut the solid keratin adhesive sticks into the fusion melting pot, which you can purchase specifically for making pre-tipped hair extensions. Find these supplies at a beauty supply store.

2. Cut the bound end of the hair weft that you purchased into 1/16 inch wide sections or smaller. The width of the sections needs to be very small to prevent shedding. This process will take time, but will result in a better quality hair extension. The hair wefts can be real human hair or synthetic.

3. Put some fusion finger guards on the tips of your fingers to protect them from the heat of the melted glue. Lower each bound end of the extension (the end that will be attached to your real hair) into the melted keratin glue to 3/4 of an inch. Pull it out slowly and roll the end of the coated tip into a point with your fingers.

4. Place each freshly-tipped extension onto the wax paper to let it cool. Repeat this process 200 to 250 more times for a full head of individual extensions. To keep the strands in order and prevent them from getting lost or tangled, hold them together with a ponytail holder.

5. Pin upper section of your hair out of the way. Attach each extension to your hair by applying heat to each lower section with the special heating tool. The heating tool melts the keratin adhesive, which bonds the tip of the extension to your real hair. Place the extensions in an even line in small sections of your hair close to your scalp, but not close enough to burn yourself. You may need a friend to help you with the back of your head.

How to apply Tape Hair Extensions

1. Wash and dry your hair without styling products. Greasy and dirty hair or product buildup will make it difficult for the tape to stick to the hair.
2. Use a comb to create a horizontal straight part cross the back of your head. If you want to do a full head hair extensions, begin with the nape of your neck. If you are adding just a few extensions for color or highlights, make your part just below the crown of your head.
3. Place the first tape hair extension into your hair gently. Dont apply the extension too close to the root of the hair. Otherwise, the tape hair extensions could potentially be uncomfortable and unable to style.
4.  Raise the first applied extension up, clipping it to your hair bundled on top.
5.  Take your second tape hair extension and apply it by pressing it tightly against your hair with the first tape extension that you have already clipped up. Your tape extensions are now neatly stuck together with your own hair sitting comfortably in between.
6. Repeat steps from 3-5, make sure that the tape hair extensions are fixed side by side with a 1cm distance between two extensions, allowing for some movement .
7. Finish your first row of tape, and then move on to your second row (usually 1 inch up from first row) and work your way up till on the top of your head. Ensure that your tape hair extensions stay covered by your own hair.
